Wednesday, September 27th –– Writing Adventure Series for Tweens

by Jeannie on September 16, 2017

STEPHANIE JEFFERSON, who writes primarily for a teen audience, will explain the process she employed for taking her idea, developing the idea into a novel, and then turning the novel into a series.  She’ll describe how to adopt the same process for other genres whether it’s a mystery, romance, sci-fi, or any other type of book.  Time permitting, she will also talk about choosing your target reader and why she selected teens. Stephanie is an author of action/adventure novels for the Middle School and Young Adult audiences.  She is the author of the Princess Kandake book series inspired by the ancient kingdom of Nubia.  Retired from her practice as a licensed psychologist, she released her first book, Princess Kandake: Warrior by Choice…  Appointed to Rule, in February 2012.  As an independent author, Stephanie has made her way around the forest of traditional publishing, through the new world of marketing, to the land of waiting readers.

Professional Writers of Prescott invites writers of all ages and levels (from beginner to published) to attend any of their meetings.  The monthly PWP meeting is always on the fourth Wednesday of each month from 6-7:45 p.m. at the Prescott Valley Library, except for the holiday months of November and December.  The meetings are usually held in the third floor Crystal Room of the Prescott Valley Library.  Exit off Glassford Hill Road onto Lakeshore Drive, then turn onto Civic Circle which leads to the parking lot.   Upon entering, turn right to the elevators and go to the third floor.
