March 23, 2016: “Incorporating Playwriting Techniques into Fiction”

March 6, 2016 0 By JEANNIE

The March 23, 2016 membership meeting will be held at the Prescott Valley Public Library, in the Crystal Room6:00pm – 7:45pm. Lori Isbell will speak about her experience as a playwright and how the elements of playwriting—dialogue, character, the crafting of story—translate into prose work as well.  In addition to sharing some excerpts from her work, she’ll be helping the audience experiment with their own impromptu scenes.

“Lori Isbell is a graduate of the MFA Creative Writing program at Arizona State University.  She is the author of several plays and the co-author of a film that debuted at the Sundance Film Festival.  Additionally, she writes fiction and nonfiction, and she is a full-time faculty member at Yavapai College.”

Professional Writers of Prescott invites writers of all ages and levels (from beginner to published) to attend any of our meetings. For more information about the individual meetings or about joining PWP, contact Marian Powell. You may email her at or visit our website at
